The unlikely purchase

Twenty-three-year-old Buck Todd says he bought charcoal gray Valentino trousers on resale site The RealReal for $80 while browsing for summer outfits. The listing noted a 34-inch inseam, but when the first-year law student in New York tried them on they were much longer than expected — about five inches too long for his 6'1" frame.

The clue inside

Inspecting the waistband, Todd found a stitched-in tag reading "Jacob E." and, after an internet search, spotted photos of Jacob Elordi wearing an identical pair on The Tonight Show on Oct. 23, 2023. A follow-up report confirmed the actor had worn custom Valentino trousers for that appearance.
