What the settlement means

Lawyers announced a settlement on May 4, reached just weeks before a New York trial was set to begin on May 18. Blake Lively first filed a complaint in December 2024 alleging misconduct and a related smear campaign. A judge dismissed ten of her 13 claims in April, including the sexual-harassment count, and earlier ruled against Wayfarer Studios’ $400 million defamation countersuit. The agreement still allows Lively to pursue legal fees and damages.

Looking ahead

Baldoni’s attorney told media the director is “ecstatic” about the outcome, and sources say he and Emily are concentrating on family and forward momentum. Professionally, Baldoni is attached to the biopic Dinner with Audrey, while Lively has The Survival List lined up next.
